Live Music: Maison du Malheur (extended version)

Gooi de deur van een rokerige nachtclub open, sla een flink glas whiskey achterover en je dendert de wereld van Maison Du Malheur binnen. Vanaf het moment dat de eerste noten uit een trompet worden geperst en een vooroorlogse drumbeat je hartslag omhoog stuwt word je mee-gesleurd in een roes van eigenzinnige blues en jazz die je niet meer loslaat voordat het laatste bodempje uit de fles is verdwenen en ieder botje in je lichaam een andere kant op danst.
Maison Du Malheur is de nieuwe band rond zanger/liedjesschrijver JP Mesker (’76). Voor de plaat Waiting for Trouble to Come verzamelde hij een groep bijzondere muzikanten om zich heen met wie hij in de herfst van 2010 de studio inging. Het jeugdige talent van Thijs Elzinga op gitaar en Hector Wijnbergen op piano werd aangevuld door de ervaring van Martin de Ruiter (T99) op drums en Donné la Fontaine (T99) op contrabas. 	Vaudeville's Darkest Muse”, Mr Pustra is a performer, musical saw player, video artist, illustrator and art director with a background in Theatre and Fine Art. The often strange and compelling character, Mr Pustra, is based on and inspired by silent films and performers of the 1920's and 1930's like Anita Berber, Marlene Dietrich and Chaplin. This is Amsterdam's Retro Vintage 1920's night out were Cocktails flow like a river, live jazz, burlesque, and vaudeville are the rage and the hep cats & glamour girls are dressed to kill!

So ladies and gents pull out all your stops and step into the Art Deco, sleazy Speakeasy atmosphere of our 1920's inspired (underground party) RaZzin'. Where you'll dance and grind the night away to exotic Roots sounds of Gypsy Jazz, Hot House Swing, Chasing charleston, blues boppers, Raging rhythms, Be Bop Jump and Electro Swing !
